Why do you wish you went to the restaurant afterward? Why are you crying?
*genuinely confused*

Why do you regret not going to a restaurant after the play?
*notices tear in Molly's eye*
Why are you crying?

That was the last time you saw him then? He broke up with you? Over coffee? While you were still distressed from the tragedies of the musical? I presume you also haven't heard from him since.
I did say he was a psychopath. He's probably gone into hiding.

He didn't break up with me...he just disappeared after that. He didn't answer when I phoned him and he didn't show up to work...I don't know where he is or why he left...but I'm really starting worry...

*shrugs*
He's gone into hiding. It's a perfectly logical thing to do considering he orchestrated the deaths of at least three people, directly caused the deaths of eleven others, aided in faking the death of yet another, and masterminded that forged Vermeer. And strapped suicide vests to four people, just to make the game more interesting.
If I had done all of that, and the one man who could prove it was still walking around, I'd probably go into hiding, too.
*pleased smirk*
Rather intriguing that he's the one who instigated my first interest in crime-solving and that he's going out of my way to get my attention now.

*puts his hands to his mouth as he does when thinking*
Not really sure. On the one hand, the law dictates that he must face trial for his crimes, but on the other....he makes for a very interesting game of chess...
*his admiration is clear, as is the conflict*
(mostly to himself) If I catch him, I win, but the game is over. If I let him go, lives will be lost, but I have something worth my time...it's a difficult choice, at best.
*catches Molly staring*

So you would rather let people die then catch him? I don't understand. Don't you wanna save people?

Of course I do, but that's a pleasant by-product of my actions, not my primary goal. All that matters to me is the puzzle. Otherwise my neurons wither and die.
Though, admittedly, I've no wish to be an accessory to murder.

laughs Well, that's a relief. Not that I thought you would murder someone. When I think about it, why didn't I think he would like murder someone?

Oh, I don't blame you for thinking I have the potential to kill. I've thought about it a few times, right down to planning my escape and cover-up. But I probably won't ever do it. I'd need a victim first. Among other things. Besides, it's more fun to solve murders than to commit them.

Stares at him, mouth wide open This begins to worry me, Sherlock. What if you have a victim one day? You really should stop thinking about things like that.
