Oh.
*he's not used to the idea of someone liking him instantly, not even a cat and had dismissed that as a possibility*
*coughs, slightly embarrassed by his possible overreaction*
Everyone?

*awkwardly*
Yes. If he likes everyone quickly then there's probably nothing to worry about. I may have...overreacted. A little bit.
*looks around at all of his stuff*
Uh.....
*winces as Toby washes Sherlock's burn with his rough tongue*

He wasn't annoying. It's a sort of feline apology. Matilda used to--
*clears throat*
*fairly softly*
Yes, well, um, you could help me pack all of my equipment back up, I suppose? Since there's no real need for it. Unless you want to look at things around your flat--test for mold spores while I'm here. Since I won't charge.
*feels like a bungling idiot*

*confused*
I would have saved his life if there was anything from which he needed saving. As it is, there wasn't, so I didn't.
I'd still keep an eye on Irene. The deviousness of women is tricky to anticipate.

Oh, no, no, no, Molly, it wouldn't be you--or Toby--she'd try to poison. Besides, poison isn't really her style. She's a notorious blackmailer, though, so I wouldn't take her too far into your confidence, particularly if there's physical evidence.
*carefully transfers microscope to box*
For example, if Moriarty gets caught, and you're brought in to testify that he and Irene are associates, she'll probably threaten to make all these photographs public to ensure you don't jeopardize her.
But if she does that, all you'd have to do is text me. I enjoy her challenges.
*there is clear admiration in his gaze that he's only ever shown when discussing Moriarty's criminal skill*

Irene is a criminal? Why are apparently all people surrounding me trying to harm me, my cat or anybody else? sits down

...I'm not trying to harm you.
Is this the bit where she's expecting a hug?
Uh...
*hands her a paper towel since there aren't any tissues handy*
It's a common trait of human nature--even you're guilty of trying to emotionally harm me. Some people are just a bit more malignant about it.

Well, but I'm not trying to harm people on purpose. Apparently those people who I think of as my friends try to harm me on purpose. And yes you aren't trying to, but apparently everyone else is. takes the towel and puts it down next to her

Look at the upside, Molly. Your criminal contacts could make you even more valuable to the police force than you already are. You could inform on them.
*awkward*
Uh...don't let Irene know what I told you about her. I don't need her being suspicious. Try not to show that you might be suspicious of her.
You have my number--text me if you see anything out of the ordinary.
*he's not leaving, but he has no idea what to say next so he checks his phone for messages. He has none.*

Sherlock, I'm probably naive and so on, but I'm not stupid. Why would I risk either my own safety, if Irene really is a criminal, or risk my friendship with her, if she isn't a criminal, by telling her that I think she is a criminal? I'll tell you if I see something suspicious. I promise. smiles

She's nearly as clever as I am, if perhaps not as observant. You may not give yourself away intentionally. A simple glance might do it.
*he realizes suddenly that he is actually enjoying Molly and Toby's company and is somewhat surprised*
Look...uh...I can stay until Irene gets back. It's not like I have anything better to do. Besides, there might still be suspicious articles somewhere. And between Irene and Jim, you should probably take up some form of martial art. Just in case. And we should discuss the results of those chemical tests. Talking of chemical tests, we may as well run them since we've got the equipment here.
*realizes he is floundering for words and excuses because he was lonely and just needs some reason to stay*
Why am I doing this? This is not me!
*blinks, slightly panicked that his thought processes aren't normal for him*
...if you want.
